i just bought 2 boxes of chocolates there - one for my sister, and one for her husband, for their combined birthday celebrations this week. such a sumptuous store! especially the location in royal arcade … one of these days i WILL sit down and actually eat and drink there!

Mmmmm mmmm! I have covered a good proportion of their dessert menu, but not sampled enough of their chocolates and truffles.

Mmmmmmmmm! Great photos, by the way…

I was in Lygon St yesterday with a friend visiting from out of town - she loves chocolate. Imagine our dismay when we found they were closed for the public holiday!

After seeing these photos, I am off to visit Koko Black for a hot chocolate!

i just want to say that i’m absolutely stoked that KB, after 6 mths of teasing us with a coming soon sign, has finally opened its doors here in canberra! woo hoo! no need to go to melbourne or sydney to get a fix anymore!

Brunch at home at 10.15am today, nothing till 1.30pm when I had a chocolate-mocha with icecream at the Collins St Koko Black. 40 minutes later I had acute diarrhoea with a still upset stomach at 5.30pm.Nothing else eaten apart from a mandarin around 12pm. Feels like foodpoisoning although cannot think there is a lot of preparation in a chocolate drink. But then who knows what goes on in a kitchen.

John: Oh no! That’s a surprise with hot chocolate alone! We were just at the Block Arcade store for a hot chocolate too and no problems so far. Maybe your empty stomach couldn’t handle all that richness. Hope you feel better soon.

Serenity Later: I just read more about it in their newsletter this afternoon. Great news!

Just came back from a holiday in Melb last week and went to the one in the Block Arcade. Had a affogato and my boyfriend had the iced chocolate. Mmmm so much chocolate. I think it’s MUCH better than Max Brenners.

i used to really enjoy koko blacks hot chocolate but found them a lil bit to creamy plus my sister doesnt like dark chocolate. we came across a chocolate shop in camberwell called choclatte. if u thought koko black was good u will fall in love with choclatte. there chocolates look lyk jewells and taste amazing but they’re hot chocolates and iced chocolates are to die for. they use lindt chocolate in there chocolate drinks and come in a bowl twice the size of koko blacks and only cost 5.00. definitly should go try them with the beatuiful frree hand latte art on them.
you will neva go back to koko black. plus the environment is a lot brighter and the staff and extremely friendly.

I agree. Check out the KB factory in Coburg and you won’t want to eat another chocolate again. It’s dirty. One bad experience has made me seen the light and it goes to show that you cannot trust everything in the chocolate wrap and packaging. Bad food handling habits just don’t simply go away and you can’t disguise it. I’m wary what I eat in any restaurant especially chocolate, better stick to a brand that has been around for many years and established itself long ago.

There are better chocolates out there and Koko Black is not one of them.
